Rimmel Show Off Lip Velvet Lacquer

Today I am checking out the new Rimmel Show Off Lip Velvet Lip Lacquer’s. By this point I think we all know that I am a "lip junkie" and I couldn't resist trying these out. Rimmel says that it’s a “weightless liquid color with velvety smooth finish, which will stay true for up to 8 Hours and that it increases lip moisture by 31%.” I would have to agree with almost all of that. I liked that it felt like silk on my lips, it’s lightweight and super pigmented! At $5.99 you can't really beat the price and quality.

My likes: These are definitely very comfortable to wear. The color pay-off is pretty good, but not outstanding. They last a decent amount of time, but 8 hours.... not true! On me they last an average of 3hrs max. I find myself re-applying a few times through the course of a day, which I hate :/

Dislikes: These definitely aren’t 100% matte. I kept waiting and waiting for them to dry down, since a lot of matte liquid lipsticks go on glossy before drying down to a matte finish, but that never happened with these. I felt like I needed to keep dipping my applicator back in numerous times to get more product. The applicator itself is nice and applied the product nice and evenly, it just didn’t seem to be picking up a lot of product.

Available in 5 different shades, I picked up 3 of the new Rimmel London Show Off Matte Lip Velvet Lacquer at the drugstore recently because when I see a lip product, I need it haha. I picked up the shades 405-Orange-ology, 602-Apollo, and 206-Atomic Rose.

Apollo is a light nude color. It's pretty much the same color as my lips, but the more I wear it, the more I like it! It is definitely one of my favorites in this collection.

All in all this definitely is not my favorite formula for a “liquid lipstick”.

It's comfortable but it never dries down to a full matte finish. If you really want to try something like this, I would go for the Rimmel Provacalips (which I wrote about in my last post). But my all time favorite liquid lipsticks are by Kat Von D and Anastasia Beverly Hills. They are a bit more on the pricey side, but worth every penny!

I wonder did you guys have better luck with these? Or have you tried the other 2 colors? What are some of your favorite liquid lipsticks...? I’d love to know how you feel about these or any others out there.
