Such perfect shades for spring and summer āļø šŗ š·š»
Let me start off by saying I wanted to love this palette a šÆ % but I didn't.
Anastasia Beverly Hills collaboration with Nicole Guerrero has been the talk of the Instagram community for some time now and it's finally available for the public. Sephora had an early access through their app Feb 27th. The official release date was March 3rd on Sephora and abh's website and March 15th is the official day it will hit all Sephora stores. The palette retails for $40. Mark your calendars ladies.
Before I get into my thoughts and review of the palette itself, I want to mention that this is by far the ābiggestā abh palette to date. Not only is the packaging bigger, but also the pans themselves are significantly bigger, meaning way more product to use! Iām never going to hit pan.
Letās get into the review, shall weā¦
Iām just going to start off with all my cons. I found a few of the shades to be very chalky (note swatch picture above). There was a lot of "kickback" when I used a brush or just went in with my fingers. Personally for me thatās not a huge issue but I know for many it might be.
My first impressions of the highlights were, that they were streaky and even chunky. I did find that once applied to the face it blends itself out a lot nicer and doesnāt leave that āchalky-streaky-chunkyā look. BLEND BABY BLEND!
Maybe I just got a dud. Iāve seen the swatches of other people posting and Iām like āWTFā lol.
Many people that Iāve spoken to told me that theyāve complained about getting broken palettes in the mail. So, as I looked into this matter more, I believe there might have been some sort of damage in one of her bulk shipments. I canāt imagine another reason as to why some many people would be receiving damaged goods.
Ok, now some positives about this paletteā¦because theyāre definitely were.
Theyāre silky soft to the touch and blend-able when worked into the face very well. Yes, I know that's a contradiction to my earlier statement but these shades are a bit of both. The glow kit is not going to disappoint in the āØinsanely shimmery⨠department haha. The pictures donāt do the shades justice. These colors are very vibrant and highly pigmented.
These shades will stand out on a multitude of skin tones, not to mention how adorable the names areš (Top row) Kitty Kat (a warm pink), Forever Young (icy pink), Daydream (shimmering peach). (Bottom row) Forever Lit (cool platinum), Glo Getter (warm gold), and 143 (bronze). For all you youngsterās out there 143 was code for āI Love Youā when we used pagers back in the day. Oh yea, Iām showing my age now hehe.
I would say that this is comparable to the āsweetsā glow kit. There is a familiarity with the colors and the buttery texture.
The Nicole Guerrero x Anastasia Beverly Hills glow kit is definitely something you'll have to test out for yourself to see if it's a right fit for your makeup collection or not. I give it a 7/10 šš½
My two favorite shades would have to be Kitty Kat and Daydream!
What was your favorite shade in the palette?
